Nel 2015, Lesbo è diventata il centro del più grande spostamento di popolazione in Europa dalla seconda guerra mondiale. Tuttavia non si tratta di un evento senza precedenti nella turbolenta storia di quest’isola greca. Fin dall’antichità, le ondate migratorie si sono susseguite su questo pezzo di terra, un crocevia di mondi, un passaggio tra Oriente e Occidente.
Navigando ai confini del documentario e della finzione, questo lavoro a lungo termine invita a una nuova lettura delle questioni contemporanee dell’isola di Lesbo, mettendo insieme le tracce del passato, la mitologia e la memoria collettiva della migrazione.

In 2015, Lesvos became the centre of Europe’s largest population movement since the Second World War. However this isn’t an unprecedented event in this Greek island’s turbulent history. Since antiquity, waves of migration have followed one another on this piece of land at the crossroads of the worlds, a passage between East and West.
Navigating at the borders of documentary and fiction, this long-term work invites to a new reading of Lesvos’s contemporary issues, by bringing together traces of the past, mythology and migration’s collective memory.
